Preparations for v. 3.0
The current server version is 2.82. We are going to begin development for Vinlet Engine 3.0. This will include a vast amount of changes and completely new content. Server version 3.0 is expected to make a release around early November of 2013.
During the development process, we will be completely recreating our server engine in dynamic ways. It will feel fast and responsive as you issue commands, chat, and build, completely redefining the methods we've always stuck with. All player inventories and maps will remain the same, so no one should worry about losing all of their data. Players will also receive more leniency with commands and interactions.
The development will begin through multiple processes as stated below.
Vanilla -Instead of duplicating our current engine, we will be completely recreating it. (With the exceptions of duplicating the map and inventories.)
Creative phase -Introducing new ideas for development.
Alpha -After we've created a stable system we will begin testing and fixing any issues that rise.
Beta -We invite players to join us in the testing phase.
Break -Leave the server running for a week and see how stable it is.
Polish -Fix any last minute issues that occurred in Break.
Release -Add the engine to "mine1.escapedturkey.net:9000". Everyone can join. The final version.
